Colin Campbell, the English author of a recent thriller novel named for and set in Jamaica Plain, will make his first visit to the neighborhood later this month.
He will make three public appearances: Centre Street Sanctuary restaurant, Mon., Sept. 23, 6:30 p.m., 365 Centre St.; Tres Gatos bookstore and restaurant, Tues., Sept. 24, 6:30 p.m., 470 Centre St.; and Brendan Behan Pub, Thurs., Sept. 26, 7 p.m., 378 Centre St.
Campbell’s “Jamaica Plain,” published in April by Midnight Ink Books, is about an English cop who travels to JP and uncovers a conspiracy. As the Gazette previously reported, Campbell has never visited JP, instead being inspired by Google Earth images of the neighborhood. “Jamaica Plain” is the first in a series of novels featuring hero Jim Grant, who will continue to be based in JP, Campbell previously told the Gazette.
