The Taste of Jamaica Plain, one of the neighborhood’s most popular annual events, will be held in West Roxbury this year after learning its longtime venue will be under renovation on its Nov. 21 date.

“We are feverishly trying to find another spot,” said Bill Minkle, The human services agency Ecumenical Social Action Committee (ESAC), which holds the Taste of JP as its major fundraiser, had to work “feverishly” to find a new spot, according to Executive Director Bill Minkle. The event features food samples from many local restaurants.

The 18th annual Taste of JP was once again slated to be held at Cedars Hall at Our Lady of the Cedars of Lebanon Church on Rockwood Street in Jamaica Hills. But ESAC recently learned the hall, which is popular for many community and political events, will be under renovation, Minkle said.
