JP Kids: Library to hold annual Halloween parade

HYDE SQ.—The Friends of the Connolly Branch Library is sponsoring the annual Halloween Party and Parade for kids this year. The event will take place on Thurs., Oct. 31, and will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the 433 Centre St. library in Hyde Square.       There will be free activities available, including face painting, crafts and treats for kids. Costumes are welcome and encouraged. At 4:30 p.m., there will be a parade around Hyde Square to trick-or-treat to local businesses.

Local businesses in the Hyde Square area are being contacted now and the library is expecting about 30 businesses to participate. Parents should accompany their children. About 100 people have participated in previous parades.

The Connolly Branch Library boasts a large children’s book section and after-school homework help at least two afternoons a week.
