Domino’s delays local zoning hearing

The franchisee seeking to open a Domino’s Pizza in Egleston Square delayed an appearance before the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council Zoning Committee originally slated for Dec. 4.

According to committee chair David Baron, the “applicant’s representative said they wanted to go through more of the permitting process and conduct meetings with the neighbors before they would be ready for a meeting with the JP Zoning Committee. They asked to be put on [the agenda] sometime in late January, early February instead.”

“This is the very beginning of the process. We haven’t even brought this to the [City] licensing board yet,” said Bill Mohan, who represents applicant Robert Rivard. “There’s nothing to discuss right now.”

Rivard is hoping to open a franchise at 3203-3213 Washington St. Previous attempts to open Domino’s franchises elsewhere in JP have been blocked by neighborhood protests in support of local businesses rather than corporate chains.
