Franklin Park Zoo will announce a new “major project” at a March 17 press conference slated to include Mayor Martin Walsh, according to a press release and a zoo publicist.
Zoo New England, which operates Franklin Park Zoo and Stoneham’s Stone Zoo, declined to give advance details about the project. The press release describes it as something that will be “built” and that will “provide engaging and educational experiences for the children and families of Boston and beyond.”
The historic zoo opened in 1912 inside Franklin Park.
