A community meeting will be held May 6 to discuss improving the crosswalk on the Arborway near the main entrance of the Arnold Arboretum.
The meeting will be hosted by the state Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and the Arborway Coalition, a local community organization. The hosts will ask for feedback on the improvements that will be presented during the meeting.
The funds for the improvement will be provided through the DCR’s Partnership Matching Funds Program and by the Arborway Coalition and partners.
“This is one element of the ongoing “Gateway to the Arborway” project,” Sarah Freeman, a member of the Arborway Coalition, said in an email to the Gazette.
That project first started rolling several years ago.
