The developer City Realty is postponing a zoning hearing on its plan to demolish a Hyde Park Avenue commercial building and replace it with a four-story, mixed-use one.
The plan for 38-42 Hyde Park Ave. was slated for a May 9 hearing before the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council Zoning Committee.
According to a meeting agenda distributed by Zoning Committee Chair David Baron, “the applicants stated through their respective counsel that they need more time to pursue a process with the immediate abutters before coming to the Zoning Committee.”
City Realty had asked Forest Hills-area residents to sign a petition in support for a height variance for the vacant building last month. The former home of Yang’s Martial Arts Association has been vacant since that business moved to Roslindale in November 2012.
