Rockland Trust Company has entered into an agreement to buy Peoples Federal Savings Bank, which has a branch at 725 Centre St. in Jamaica Plain.
Ellen Molle of Rockland Trust said the Rockland-based bank will not be closing any of the Peoples branches.
“Regarding the impact on Peoples’ customers, we don’t anticipate significant product, rate or fee changes in the immediate term,” she said in an email. “At Rockland Trust, we place the highest value on our relationships with our customers and communities and will make every effort to minimize changes as the two organizations’ products and systems are aligned in 2015.”
Molle said Rockland Trust will keep customers informed of any changes. She noted that Rockland Trust offers free costumer and business checking accounts and no-fee ATMs.
