2 killed in Jamaicaway crash

PONDSIDE—Two women died in a car crash on the Jamaicaway at Perkins Street on Oct. 19.

The victims were passengers in a BMW that apparently crossed the center line and struck an oncoming Toyota Camry at around 3 a.m., according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. They were identified only as a 33-year-old from Lynn and a 44-year-old from Everett. Neither wore seat belts, according to the DA’s Office.

The BMW’s driver, a 26-year-old Lynn woman, and the Toyota driver, a 36-year-old Roslindale man, were hospitalized but are expected to survive, the DA’s Office said.

A DA’s Office press release said that “all aspects of the crash, including whether alcohol or excessive speed were contributing factors, remain under investigation.”
