New York man charged with Jackson Sq. murder

A woman found dead last summer in Jackson Square was a murder victim, according to Boston Police, who arrested a suspect in New York City on Jan. 19.

On July 13, 2014, the body of Pippin Roe, 40, of Boston was found in a wooded area next to Urban Edge’s building at 1542 Columbus Ave. In August, the Boston Police Department issued photos of three “persons of interest” in Roe’s death.

On Jan. 19, BPD announced that it had determined that Roe was murdered and identified Ritcher Baez, 24, of New York as a suspect in the crime. That day, officers with BPD’s Fugitive Apprehension and Homicide Units joined New York Police Department detectives in locating and arresting Baez.
