Children’s Winter Festival coming to Franklin Park

The Children’s Winter Festival is scheduled to take place Thurs., Feb. 19 at the Franklin Park Golf Course Clubhouse.

The festival includes a New England Aquarium tadpole exhibit; Science on the Street tabletop experiments; an artifact display hosted by the Robert S. Peabody Museum of Archaeology; a Boston Nature Center scavenger hunt and nature hike; and taxidermy, wildlife and live horse demonstrations with the Boston Park Rangers.

“Wintertime is fun time for Boston’s kids at this free festival during the school break at Franklin Park,” Mayor Martin Walsh said in a release. “We’ll have activities indoors and outdoors for children of all ages.”

The festival will also feature puppets, winter arts and crafts, balloon animals and refreshments. It runs 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, see cityofboston.gov/parks or facebook.com/bostonparksdepartment.
