Library ‘bibliocycle’ returns to JP

The Boston Public Library (BPL) Bibliocycle, a bike and book trailer, has returned to the streets of JP in its second season. The bike-drawn trailer will visit street fairs, markets, and community events to deliver library services on-the-go. Its first stop was last Saturday at the Kite and Bike Festival in Franklin Park.

Features of the Bibliocycle include library card sign-up; book checkout; demonstrations of BPL’s digital resources; help with reference questions; and story-readings to children.

The mobile collection of up to 50 books includes new releases, bestsellers, picture books and titles on cooking, gardening and bike repair.

The bibliocycle will return to JP on July 18 for the Bikes and Bites Boston Women’s Bike Ride & Festival at Daisy Field, and on Sept. 10 and 24 at the Loring-Greenough Farmers Market at 12 South St., BPL spokesperson Rosemary Lavery told the Gazette.
