Editorial: Roslindale Neighbors

The Gazette returns to Roslindale for the second time this year and we hope we’re welcomed as an old friend. If not, feel free to use the paper to kindle a fire, as the temperatures start to dip.

We kid. We kid. But Jamaica Plain and Roslindale can kid with each other because we are like kin, going through much the same circumstances. We are both unique neighborhoods filled with diverse populations, artists, musicians and many other creative people. But that specialness is under threat, and has been for a while, because of gentrification and the dollar-centric outlook of some people.

We look forward to returning next year and are optimistic, maybe delusionary, that both our charms will not have left us by then.
