A 42-year-old male was fatally shot at the Mildred C. Hailey Apartments in Jackson Square on Sept. 27, according to bpdnews.com.

Boston Police Department (BPD) officers responded to a report of a person shot at the housing development around 12:56 a.m. on Sept. 27. Officers found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was sent to a local hospital where he died.

The man was later identified as Nigel Louis Hailey, 42, of Columbus, Ohio. He is the grandson of Mildred Hailey, who the apartments are named after. She died last November at the age of 82.
