Chimney Restored

Local elected officials and residents gathered on March 2 for a ribbon cutting ceremony for the completion of the Haffenreffer Chimney restoration project that was done by Jamaica Plain artist Robert Maloney with the support of the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation (JPNDC) and George B. Henderson Foundation. Ninety-three-year-old Katherine Haffenreffer Selle, the only living child of Rudolph Haffenreffer, who founded the brewery in the late 1800s, also attended the ceremony. The project restored the brewery’s chimney signage to its full name and height. From left to right, local state Rep.
