The annual Holiday Trolley Tour and Tree Lighting at the Soldier’s Monument will start at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 7.

Book Talk: Moxie This book chronicles Moxie’s rich history. Moxie’s World Headquarters (Moxieland) was  located in Jamaica Plain (at 79 Heath Street) from 1928 to 1953.  Sunday, December 8, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Farnsworth House, 90 South Street.  Sponsored by the Jamaica Plain Historical Society.

JP Toastmasters meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at The Footlight Club in Jamaica Plain. The meeting will feature free food and drinks, introductions, and opportunities to practice speaking. As always, meetings are free for guests. JP Toastmasters is known for providing a warm, welcoming environment where members help each other improve their public speaking and leadership skills

Free Drop-In Homework Help

Mondays-Thursdays, 3:30-5:30pm

The library provides free, drop-in afterschool homework help for students in grades K-8 throughout the school year. Spanish assistance is available Mondays and Thursdays. Help is provided by trained, high-achieving high school students. This program is available at locations across Boston on days that Boston Public Schools are in session.
