The widely popular Jamaica Mi Hungry food truck, that has a brick and mortar location here in Jamaica Plain, has been making stops at different locations around Boston to help out residents in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The longtime Boston staple, that recently opened its first full-scale restaurant in Jamaica Plain in September, added some menu items alongside the famous Jamaican cuisine to take part in the Restaurant Relief Program.
Along with their jerk chicken or rice and peas the Jamaica Mi Hungry food truck is offering hygiene items like Pampers, soap, wet wipes, toothpaste, shampoo and other essentials that are becoming increasingly hard to find at grocery stores and pharmacies. The food truck and its staff were also offering canned and boxed dry goods for residents.
While continuing to operate their food truck business, Jamaica Mi Hungry Chef Ernie Campbell and general manager Aquila Kentish, opened their first permanent location at 225 Centre St. in Jamaica Plain last fall.
