Jamaica Plain Officers Make Drug Arrest, Discarded Gun Found in JP on the Same Day

A Jamaica Plain man was arrested and charged with numerous drug offenses following a lengthy investigation by police.

On Jan. 14 officers assigned to Jamaica Plain’s District E-13 Drug Control Unit arrested Osvaldo Medina, 33, of Jamaica Plain, after a brief foot pursuit in the area of 25 Armstrong St. Medina appeared in West Roxbury District Court on charges of Trafficking Class B Drugs (+200 Grams), Distribution of Class A and B Drugs (2nd and Subsequent) and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs.

After Medina’s arrest, officers continued their investigation, executing a search warrant at the suspect’s residence, which led to the recovery of over $260,000 in U.S. Currency, approximately 455 grams of cocaine along with several plastic bags of marijuana and other assorted drug paraphernalia.

Earlier in the day Jamaica Plain officers recovered a .380 caliber Lorcin L380 handgun which had been discarded in the area of 25 Amory St. The weapon has since been turned over to the BPD Firearms Analysis Unit for processing. This investigation remains active and ongoing.
