Richard B. Lee
Of Auburndale, MA

     Richard B. Lee, 78, of Auburndale, MA., died November 29, 2021 of complications following surgery. Born October 13, 1943, he was the son of Roland S. Lee and Mary C. Lee. Dick grew up in Newton Center, MA and graduated from Newton High School and U. of Mass.-Boston. He was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Mary Lee, and his brothers Stephen Haynes and Christopher Lee. He is survived by his twin sister, Martha Lee of Adams, his niece Sarah Schirmer of New Orleans, and his nephew Eric Lee of New York City. Dick worked as a contractor at different times in his life; enjoyed working on home improvement projects and car repair, and loved following the Patriots, Celtics and Boston Red Sox. A pioneer among artists and makers in Jamaica Plain in the 70s, Dick built a foundry in the former Haffenreffer Brewery where he forged meditation singing Tibetan bells. He was a loving caregiver to both his parents in their later years, enabling them to stay in their home. He had a great engineering mind and designed projects with an inventive and curious bent. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends and carried in their hearts forever. No memorial service is planned at present.
