Eliot School Featured in American Craft Magazine Summer Issue

The Eliot School of Fine & Applied Arts’ Abigail Norman and Alison Croney Moses were both recently featured in American Craft Magazine’s Summer 2022 issue. American Craft Magazine is published by the American Craft Council, a “national nonprofit working to keep craft artists and the community connected, inspired, and thriving,” according to its website.

The article is part of the magazine’s “Visionaries in Craft” profiles, and provides some history about the school and features photos of Croney Moses, who serves as Associate Director, and Norman, who serves as the school’s Executive Director, along with woodshop student Tanya Nixon-Silberg.

The article highlights the Eliot School’s dedication to racial equity and inclusion, including its “online salon talks on racial equity in craft,” it states. The article also mentions that Croney Moses heads the national Racial Equity in Craft Peer Learning Group.

“It’s truly an honor to have our work be put forward at this level of national recognition,” Norman told the Gazette in an email. “We know we still have much to do, and we look forward to continuing that journey.”
