Annual Canine Costume Parade set for this Saturday, Oct. 29

     The Annual Canine Costume Parade is a neighborhood favorite. The Canine Costume Parade is always held the Saturday before Halloween. This year, it falls on October 29, and is set to begin at noon and go through 2 p.m. Rain date for the event is Sunday, Oct. 30.

     This year will be the 18th annual Dog Parade in Jamaica Plain. Dogs and owners in their finest costumes parade from First Baptist Church to the Loring Greenough House, where they will walk the red carpet. The event is helmed and MC’ed by Brad Brown, owner of Blue Frog Bakery. Costumes are judged by local celebrities, and prizes are awarded to the top three participants. 100% of all $10 entry fees from participants go to the City of Boston Animal Shelter, in the form of gifts cards to our local pet stores. The event is sponsored by Sazama Real Estate.               Registration starts at First Baptist Church, 633 Centre St, at 12noon. The parade commences at 1:00pm to Loring Greenough House. The dogs will walk the Red Carpet upon arrival at Loring Greenough House, 12 South Street, Jamaica Plain.
