Connecting Community: The JP Memory Café Returns for 2026

Staff Report

The City of Boston’s Age Strong Commission is proud to continue its commitment to supporting residents living with memory loss through the Jamaica Plain Memory Café. This monthly gathering offers a welcoming and safe space designed specifically for individuals experiencing memory impairment, along with their families and care partners.

A Memory Café is a unique environment where the focus shifts from limitations to strengths. Because every café is different, guests can expect:

• Diverse Settings: While often hosted at the Jamaica Plain Branch of the library, sessions may also be held at coffeehouses, museums, or other community organizations.

• Engaging Activities: Some sessions feature guest artists or education about memory changes, while others focus on relaxing and chatting.

• Complimentary Refreshments: Free snacks and drinks are provided by City Feed and Supply.

• Bilingual Support: The café is bilingual, offering services in both English and Spanish.
