Krista Kranyak Chalfin, the owner of Grass Fed and Ten Tables, is selling the Grass Fed location on Centre Street to the owner of Chilicates.
“I decided to sell Grass Fed because I am ready for the next chapter in my life,” Chalfin said. “I turned 45 years old this past year and after owning and running five different restaurants I want to have the flexibility of more time with my children, my wife and our new puppy.”
Ten Tables, Chalfin’s other JP restaurant, will remain alive and well.
“I am very excited to be able to focus entirely on my original and all time favorite Ten Tables in JP,” Chalfin said. “I have also had other interests I have wanted to pursue in my life and am hoping this allows time for them.”
The owner of Chilicates, Socrates Abreu, will be purchasing GrassFed and maintaining its name, menu, and liquor license, according to Michael Reiskind of the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council (JPNC).
“I’m delighted that my friend and colleague Socrates has bought Grass Fed and that the concept will continue on in Jamaica Plain,” Chalfin said.
Chalfin is exploring options in real estate development, particularly for a potential project on Rocky Nook Terrace, but had no further comments on the subject.
