Edward ‘Red’ Burrows: I have live in Jamaica Plain since 1998. I am running for re-election a seat in area C. Since coming onto the Council I have served on the Zoning Committee and have learned much about how development impact neighborhoods. I believe strongly in community control over development. The community should have a say in how their neighborhood develops. Neighborhood preservation is a key job of the Neighborhood Council and building and maintaining affordable housing is a major part of neighborhood preservation. Other organizations I have been involved with include:
Buckminster Tenants Association
Fenway PZAC (Planned Zoning Area Committee)
Board Member of the Mass Tenants Organization and Mass Tenants Resource Center
Ward 5 Democratic Committee
Fenway CDC
District 8 Neighborhood Campaign
KAFNI- Kenmore, Audubon Circle, Fenway Neighborhood Initiative.
