Man shot near English High

A shooting at the intersection of Williams and Amory streets near English High School was reported to Boston Police March 26 at 12:46 p.m.

According to police department spokesperson Officer Joe Zanoli, the victim, a 26-year-old black male said to have non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to Boston Medical Center by a friend in a private car. Boston Police and Boston Public Schools (BPS) spokespersons said the victim is not an English High School student or staff member. The investigation is listed as “active and ongoing.”

BPS spokesperson Matt Wilder told the Gazette that school has early dismissal on Fridays and students had gotten out at 12:25 p.m. The building was placed in “safe mode” for an hour after the shooting.
