(Courtesy Photo) Mayor Thomas Menino (at podium) announces the Renew Boston Residential Solar Pilot Program on June 21 at the 98 Brookside Avenue home of Katherine Kilborne and Scott Shear while city environment chief Jim Hunt looks on. The program offers rebates to homeowners and businesses who, like Kilborne and Shear, install solar panels. It is part of the larger Renew Boston program, a partnership among the City, NSTAR and National Grid that offers energy efficiency upgrades to income-eligible renters and homeowners.
