I am writing to publicly thank Laraine Hall, who recently retired from the Boston Public Library Jamaica Plain Branch. As a regular BPL visitor, I can’t thank Laraine enough for her wonderful years of public service working at the circulation desk. Laraine knew all the regulars; always had a smile and a kind word; related to kids as well as adults; was helpful in answering questions and providing information; and in general contributed to the welcoming atmosphere at the JP Branch. My entire family benefited from her dedication and commitment to making the library accessible to all. We were sad to learn of her retirement and wish her well—but want to make sure she knows how much she meant to the Jamaica Plain Branch community!
