Letter: Thanks for help making party a hit

The Nira Rock Neighborhood Association would like to thank all of the many people and organizations who made our “End of Summer Bash” a huge success! Loads of party-goers basked in the sun while enjoying free hot dogs and roasted Twinkies (delicious!), free food donated by local restaurants, free ice cream, world-class hula-hooping, juggling, ginormous bubbles and amazing face-painting!

This event could not have been possible without the hard work of many volunteers and generous donations provided by J.P. Licks, City Feed, Equal Exchange, Centre Street cafe, Yelly’s, and Stop & Shop. The generosity of these local enterprises is one reason we are fortunate to live in this community! Spontaneous Celebrations was also key to the event’s success, donating tables, chairs, puppets and even stilt-walkers! City Councilor Matt O’Malley provided early encouragement and a much-appreciated contribution.

The Nira Rock Neighborhood Association is building on this success, meeting regularly and preparing for a series of events in the winter and spring.

Thank you to all who make the Nira Rock neighborhood and all of Jamaica Plain the wonderful place we are proud to call home!

Will Crosby, The Nira Rock Neighborhood Association
