HYDE SQ.—A new doggie daycare and pet supply store will open in Hyde Square by summer’s end.
Tails, which will serve cats and dogs, is expected to open at Fat Ram’s Pumpkin Tattoo’s old location at 380 Centre St. by the end of July, owner Yesse Feliz told the Gazette.
“We serve people and their animals,” she said. “We saw that, in JP, there was not much variety for [pet] food, even though the pet community is growing.”
Feliz considered opening in South Boston before deciding on Jamaica Plain.
“Most people have to take a drive to Roslindale or South Boston, or they order their pet food online,” she said.
Tails will eventually have a website where customers will be able to order their pet food for pick-up or home delivery, Feliz said.
As for the daycare, Tails is expected to open by 7 a.m. to welcome pets before the workday starts. Daily prices are expected to vary between $12 and $20, depending on the dog’s size and feeding needs, Feliz said.
Tails will also hold an open house once it is open, Feliz added.
