Wine and beer store to debut

Streetcar Wine & Beer, a new store focused on higher-end products from small producers, will hold its grand opening on July 14.

Michael Dupuy, owner of the store at 488 Centre St. at the corner of Kingsboro Park, said the starting inventory will include an emphasis on “Old World” wines from such places as France and Italy.

There will be a “strong local section” of beer, as well as one of the city’s best selections of Belgian beer, he said.

Streetcar is named for the former E Line streetcars that once ran on Centre Street until 1985. The grand opening will run 2-9 p.m. The regular hours are Tuesday-Wednesday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; Thursday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sunday noon-6 p.m.; and closed Mondays.
