Voter registration deadline nears for Sept. 6 primary election

The state’s primary election will be held Sept. 6, and the voter registration deadline is on Aug. 17.

A voter registration table operated by the Secretary of State’s Office will be at the Forest Hills T Station on Weds., Aug. 8, 7-10 a.m. and 3-6 p.m.

The primary election helps select political party nominees for the final election on Nov. 6.

Anyone who is a U.S. citizen, a resident of Massachusetts and 18 or older is eligible to vote. But they must be registered. If you are unsure of your voter registration status, contact the Boston Election Department at 617-635-3767 or see cityofboston.gov/elections.
