Thank you for your editorial on “JP’s presidential choice” and your front-page article about the candidacy of Dr. Jill Stein, Green Party nominee for president of the United States (“Green prez nominee: Why JP should vote for me,” Sept. 14).
The article highlights one of the less obvious reasons that community newspapers like the JP Gazette are important. The obvious reason is that the Gazette reports on community events that the Boston Globe from its lofty perch finds too trivial to cover. But the less obvious reason is that the Gazette informs its readers about political alternatives that the Globe finds so threatening that it must censor any mention of them.
Kudos to the Gazette for breaking through the censorship!
