Local state Sen. Sonia Chang-Díaz will receive the Legislator of the Year Award from the Massachusetts Association of School Committees, according to a press release.
“I am so honored to receive this award,” said Chang-Díaz, according to the press release. “Our state’s commitment to education is at the core of who we are.”
Chang-Díaz is receiving the award for her work on the education reform bill passed earlier this year, her advocacy on education-related budget items and her efforts to ensure a continued strong role for school committees in education oversight.
Chang-Díaz will be honored by the association in Hyannis today Nov. 9.
