Ex-state rep. busted on drug charges at JP school

Stephen Doran, a former state representative, was arrested May 21 by State Police outside the Match Charter Public Middle School at 215 Forest Hills St. in Jamaica Plain after allegedly receiving a package containing 480 grams of methamphetamine there, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

A search of Dolan’s home allegedly found an additional 38 grams of methamphetamine, according to the DA’s Office.

Doran, currently a Dorchester resident, was expected to be arraigned on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine on May 22, after the Gazette deadline. It is unclear if he has obtained a lawyer.

Mike Larsson, chief operating officer of Match, said, “Stephen Doran was a volunteer tutor for the last nine months, worked hard and built good relationships with the kids.”

But, Larrson said, Doran will not be tutoring for the next five weeks of the school year after his arrest.
