Three candidates to battle for U.S. Senate seat

Democrat U.S. Rep. Ed Markey (5th District), Republican Gabriel Gomez and third-party candidate Richard Heos will face off against each other on June 25 in an election to fill the U.S. Senate seat left by John Kerry.

Interim Sen. William Cowan holds the seat in the meantime.

Markey and Gomez won their respective party nomination in April, while Heos collected the required signatures to get on the ballot as a third-party candidate. Heos, a Woburn resident, is representing the Twelve Visions Party, a national organization that seeks to make all people rich. The party’s website is tvpnc.org.
