Ban Chiang House gets new owners

JP CENTER—Ban Chiang House, a Thai restaurant at 707 Centre St., is temporarily closed while it changes ownership.

New owners Napat Sriwannavit and Phunthip Sittijirachote are in the process of seeking a transfer of the restaurant’s liquor license.

Sriwannavit and Sittijirachote also co-own Pho & I House of Noodle and Rice in the Fenway/Symphony area. The new owners are planning to completely redecorate the space before reopening, Sriwannavit told a Jamaica Plain Business and Professional Association (JP BAPA) meeting on March 19.

“We’re very excited to come into JP,” she said.

Sriwannavit added that she and her partner plan to serve Vietnamese and Thai food, including big noodle bowls, called pho.

They told the JP BAPA members that the Jamaica Pond Association had already voted to support them. BAPA voted the same way.
