The last remaining part of the Route 39 bus improvement project—the “bump-out” curb extension at the Centre Street and Seaverns Avenue stop—should be completed next month, according to MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo.
The “bump-out” curb extension was delayed last fall because of trouble relocating a storm drain.
“The work at Centre and Seaverns is scheduled to be performed in April. All issues have been resolved. It is the only remaining work item on Route 39,” said Pesaturo in an email to the Gazette.
The route, which runs between Forest Hills in JP and Back Bay Station, underwent several changes, including the consolidation of some stops and improved amenities like new shelters and benches and “bump-out” curb extensions. The project is meant to speed service and improve accessibility.
