Washington/Green project dropped from agenda

The status of a proposed development along Washington and Green streets is unclear, as it was supposed to appear for the second time before the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council’s Zoning Committee on July 16 before being pulled from the agenda.

The project is scheduled to appear before the City’s Zoning Boards of Appeals (ZBA) July 22. It is unclear if that hearing will be deferred.

The developer, Walter Craven, did not respond to a request for comment, but his attorney told the Zoning Committee that they wanted more time to talk with abutters, said chair David Baron. Zoning Committee had voted in January to deny support for the project.

The proposal back then called for two buildings at 3371-3375 Washington St. and 197-201 Green St. Each building would have commercial space in the first floor with several floors of residential units above. Out of the 20 units, two would be affordable. The project would have 26 parking spaces. It is unclear if the project has changed at all.
