With gift-giving holidays around the corner, Blanchards Wines & Spirits General Manager Mike Denson gave the Gazette his top three recommendations for grown-up gifts of the liquid variety.
His top pick was a Glenlivet $42 gift pack that includes a full-sized bottle of the 12-year aged Scotch whisky, as well as drams of the 15-year and 18-year varieties.
“You can’t beat this deal,” Denson said, noting that a serving of the 18-year Glenlivet can be a $20 order at restaurants.
For beer lovers, Denson suggested an Ommegang Brewery three-pack for $27. The pack includes three 750-ml bottles of Ommegang flagship brews “Three Philosophers” quadruple ale, “Rare Vos” amber ale and “Triple Perfection” Belgian-style Tripel.
As for wine lovers, he suggested a two-pack of Connundrum wines that include white and red blends made in California for $32.99, “in a nice gift pack,” Denson said.
“They’re really good wines, and you save money buying them that way,” he said.
