Voters head to the poll for March 1 primary

Jamaica Plain residents will have numerous presidential candidates to choose from when they head to the polls for the March 1 Massachusetts primary election.

On the Republican side, many names will appear on the ballot, but only five candidates are still running: real estate mogul Donald Trump, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

On the Democratic side, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley and businessman Roque De La Fuente will appear on the ballot. O’Malley is no longer running.

For the Green Party, there are five candidates: Jill Stein, William Kreml, Kent Mesplay, Darryl Cherney, and Sedinam Kinamo Christin Moyowasifza Curry.
