Josiah D. De Vaughn, of Jamaica Plain is performing in Boston
Ballet’s production of Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker in the
role of Urchin. De Vaughn has been a student at Boston Ballet
School for 1 year having been introduced to ballet through the
City Dance Program last year. The Nutcracker opens November
29 at the Boston Opera House with performances through
December 30. Josiah started out in competitive gymnastics and
started dancing just last year. In addition to taking classes at
Boston Ballet, Josiah is also a member of the OrigiNation, Inc.’s
boys junior dance company, Aleye Boys where he performs
modern, hip-hop and jazz around the city of Boston. He attends
Concord Baptist Church of Boston, MA, serves on the Junior
Usher Board and participates in Children’s Church.
