Cigarette sparks blaze

HYDE SQ.—A cigarette left on a porch sparked a fire that caused $25,000 in damage to a triple-decker on St. Patrick’s Day.

There were no injuries in the blaze, which happened around 6 p.m. on March 17 at 28 Paul Gore St, according to the Boston Fire Department (BFD).

The cause was “careless disposal of a cigarette,” according to BFD spokesperson Steve MacDonald.
