Pub holds Paint Nite for thirsty artists

FOREST HILLS—Easels, paints and brushes are an alternative to trivia night or karaoke at Paint Nite at Eugene O’Neill’s pub at 3700 Washington St.

The $45 art class, held twice a month, includes all materials for budding artists to recreate their version of the painting of the day, Eugene O’Neill’s manager Melissa Hunt told the Gazette. The painters sit at tables in the middle of the pub and follow an instructor in copying a sample painting.

“For the cost of an art class or a painting [from an artist], you get to paint it yourself.”

The next class, to recreate “Gnarled Tree,” a moderately difficult painting, is scheduled for Sept. 16. For more information or to sign up for the class, visit paintnite.com.
